Post 18: Drains Out!

So, I've just had 2 (of the 3) drain pipes removed this morning... which was nice.

And our favourite word of the day is: morphine.

Two pipes, each about 15cms long were buried deep into my skin, where the plastics surgeons were expecting a collection of protective fluid to build.

Each pipe was also stitched to the outside of my skin to prevent them from moving and then a big clear sticker/plaster for visibility.

So, the first part of the fun was just getting to them through the plasters and stitching - the skin wasn't too bad but definitely a little sore. Then, it was a case of me breathing deeply, and keeping still whilst the nurse just kept on pulling!!

Each one was deep-deep (sorry - I know, I should have asked!!) but was easily15cms on the inside of me.

The other pipe will be checked over the next couple of days and potentially removed on Thursday, all going well. Yay.

How's your day been so far?
