Post 21: The Drains!

Definitely not something to make a glass of squash from, but instead this is the last of the 'drain bottles' that have now been removed from my right side.

This one was piped directly into my right armpit, where the skin and muscle was upset by the surgeons poking a blood vessel through it, to feed the moved flap of skin on my chest.

They're quite big bottles, actually!! And when there were three of them it became quite heavy for my right arm when carrying them to the bathroom.

This particular one, labelled-up as bottle 2, had already been replaced once, so it's amazing to see just how much fluid the body creates to protect itself.

Last couple of photos are of the uncovered pipe still attached by a couple of stitches to hold it in place.

Am fascinated by this. (Hope you lot are, as I'm not stopping anytime soon!)
