Post 12: You, Me and The Big C
Before Covid, I’d drive an hour or so to work and back each day, and I would rip through a bunch of podcasts in the car; from geeky ‘Darknet Diaries’, to ‘How I Built This’ interviews with company founders, but one that really caught my interest, was ‘You, Me and The Big C’.
Three women who have/had cancer talked about… everything.
From the bad points, to (believe it or not) the high points, and all with a big sense of humour.
I have no idea where/how I heard of it, but it is the absolute raw and completely unadulterated truth about what really happens, and all straight from the horse’s mouth, which is totally astounding.
It is (honestly) one of the best podcasts I’ve listened to.
I listened, genuinely scared. And, yes, I’ll be honest, I may have shed the odd tear at times at things they’ve said.
Some info went in, and lots went straight over my head, but I kept listening, and all without knowing that one day it might all become useful information.
I’ve been listening again recently, over these last couple of weeks. Yes, it’s perhaps a little different this time, now that I’ve seen behind the cancer-curtain, but it’s SUCH a good podcast series, I think I wanted to play-it back again.
If you’re looking for a podcast to get into, check it out. It’s made by the BBC, so the quality of the production is amazing, and their infectious humour within a darkened world is the best.
Give it a whirl. It might be interesting. Or useful. Or just a little compassionate humour.
